THK partners and Ministers have initiated discussions at the World Economic Forum in January 2020 and concrete offering today are presented in Jakarta on 20 February 2020
Innovative financing solutions for natural capital will support Indonesia’s aspiration as a natural capital superpower. Indonesia’s natural capital is a defining feature of our country. THK is pleased to support efforts and report progress on new nature carbon funds and Blue Halo S initiatives for land, forests and oceans.
Edhy Prabowo, Minister of Fisheries welcomed the progress in the Blue Halo S project. He said that “the success of the Blue Halo S project could herald a new path toward sustainable fisheries across the archipelago.”
The endeavor will contribute also to the commitment of the provincial governments of Papua and West Papua, as articulated in the Manokwari Declaration, to pursue a low-carbon development future.
Mari Pangestu, co-founder of THK Forum and UID trustee said that “implementation of the Local Carbon Development Initiative was critical for Indonesia’s future so I welcome the initiative of the government and THK in Natural Capital Carbon and Community in Indonesia and Papua and West Papua.”
